Ordering your Cake
Initial Contact
A big welcome to Hareraising Cakes of Chatham.
When you contact Hareraising Cakes, we will acknowledge your message as soon as possible and ask what bespoke cakes or cake you are looking for and the date you require collection.
The First Consultation
You have found Hareraising Cakes of Chatham to see if I can create the cake of your dreams. To begin the process of your bespoke cakes to order, I will need some key information to understand what you are looking for. We can do this over social media, a phone call or even a face-to-face meeting, whichever suits.
During this first stage we can build up a design which meets your requirements and schedule a date for delivery or collection.
Order
Once we have agreed on a design for your bespoke cakes or cake, I can provide a quote. If you are happy to proceed, I will book it into my diary as a firm order. Any adjustments after the order is confirmed may change the price, either up or down.
To confirm the order a small, non refundable, deposit of £15 for normal cakes or £50 for wedding cakes. This is to cover some of the upfront ingredient costs.
Ongoing Communications
At Hareraising cakes, from start to finish, I will keep you informed of progress as the design is refined. I will bake your bespoke cakes or cake a day or two before delivery, this is to give the cake time to firm up and absorb the flavours, keeping it as fresh as possible.
As construction begins on your cake or cakes to order, I will keep you informed on how it is progressing, so that any small changes can be made before it's too late., you may, of course not want to see elements of the build, keeping it as a big surprise.
When it's complete I will send you a photo for your final approval. Once you are happy it will boxed it up in preparation for delivery or collection.
Collection or Delivery
At Hareraising Cakes, we prefer you to collect your bespoke cakes or cake from our location in Chatham at our pre-agreed time and date in order to keep your cake as perfect as possible. We ask that you collect at that time once agreed upon, as other cakes will be being baked, collected, or delivered around that time slot.
We can delivery your cake to you if you wish, providing we are able to, and to a location within a 5 mile radius but this will incur a small delivery charge. Again this can be discussed beforehand.
Extra large cakes and wedding cakes will be delivered as these require setting up at your chosen venue and there is a set up charge that will be included to your order.
Payment
At Hareraising Cakes, we would like payment for your bespoke cakes or cake on collection or delivery, please. The easiest way is online, but we can also take payment by card or cash. You will receive a receipt for your payment.
Cake Care
At Hareraising Cakes of Chatham, once you have your bespoke cakes or cake, we will provide a small cake care card so that you know how to look after your cake before it's consumed.
For example, cakes are normally not stored in the fridge; anywhere cool and out of direct light is fine.
The Care Card will have a cutting guide, so you can serve to your guests a delicious piece.
Enjoy
At Hareraising Cakes, we hope you enjoy your bespoke cakes or cake at your party/celebration. The box and board are recyclable, so please recycle if possible. Other decoration may not be, we will advise you when you have the cake.
