Ordering your Cake

Initial Contact

However you found Hareraising Cakes, welcome.

When you contact Hareraising Cakes we will acknowledge your message and ask you what are you looking for and when.

The First Consultation

You have contacted Kim to see is she can make you the cake of your dream. To begin the process I will need to understand what you are looking for. We can do this over social media, a phone call or even a face to face meeting, whichever suits.

During this first stage we can build up a design which meets your requirements and schedule a date for delivery or collection.

Order

Once we have agreed on a design I will give you a price for the cake. If you are happy with it then we will make it a firm order. Any changes after the order may change the price, either up or down.

To confirm the order a small, non refundable, deposit of £15 for normal cakes or £50 for wedding cakes. This is to cover some of the upfront ingredient costs.

Ongoing Communications

As time goes by and the design is refined I will keep you informed of the progress. Normally I will bake the cake a day or two before delivery, this is to give the cake time to firm up and absorb the flavours.

As construction begins, I will, if you want, keep you informed on how it is going, so that any small changes can be made before it's too late., you may, of course not want to see elements of the build, keeping it as a bug surprise.

When it's complete I will send you a photo for your final approval. Once you are happy I will box it up in preparation for delivery or collection.

Collection or Delivery

We prefer you to collect the cake from us, at an agreed time. We do ask that, once agreed, we stick to that time as other cakes maybe being baked, collected or delivered around that time slot.

We can delivery your cake to you if you wish, providing we are able to, and to a location within a 5 mile radius but this will incur a small delivery charge. Again this can be discussed beforehand.

Extra large cakes and wedding cakes will be delivered as these require setting up at your chosen venue and there is a set up charge that will be included to your order.

Payment

We would like payment for the cake on collection or delivery please. The easiest way is online. But we can take payment by by card or cash. You will receive a receipt for you payment.

Cake Care

Once you have your cake we will provide a small cake care card so that you know how to look after you cake before it's eaten.

For example, cakes normally are not stored in the fridge, anywhere cool and out of direct light is OK.

The Care Card will have a cutting guide, so you can serve to your guests a delicious piece.

Enjoy

Please enjoy the cake at your party/celebration. The box and board are recyclable, so please recycle if possible. Other decoration may not be, we will advise you when you have the cake.
